I spent my weekend out of town at a wedding, but when Jean Machine sent me an email asking if I’d like to check out Field Trip music festival in a brand new outfit, I really couldn’t refuse now could I?
After a bit of reworking, I was able to keep Sunday evening open for the festival, and though it was rainy out, it was still such a treat to wander the grounds and take in all of the different music drifting through the air at the same time. Highlights included Marina and The Diamonds (she wore a massive glittery cherry headband!), the wood oven pizzas, Jordan De Ruiter’s flower crowns, and the cute little fruit stand that was serving chunks of watermelon with pastel drink umbrella toppers.
When it came to picking out my outfit, I’ll admit I was a bit lost. The last time I attended a music festival I was a very excited 16 years old walking into an all-rock lineup with a name that eludes me these days. Back then, I wore a band t-shirt and denim cut offs, and though I’m sure that would’ve worked just fine this past weekend, I couldn’t help but want to feel a little bit more grown up (I know, boring right?)
In the end I chose a super soft pair of white ripped jeans by Just Black, and a neon pink silky top by Naked Zebra. Accessorized with simple black sandals, a small cross body purse, and a wide brimmed hat, I was perfectly outfitted to dance the night away- even if I spent most of the time sitting down eating snacks!
