Dress UpRandom

Though the humidity in Toronto makes dressing up a bit more difficult, I refuse to give it up entirely. I love putting together dreamy outfits laden with sparkles and golden touches, and no one does those things better than Ted Baker.

I’m on a bit of a navy blue kick right now, and with delicate 3d floral details is perfect for everything from Friday night patio drinks to Sunday brunches. Romantic and whimsical, this look sends my imagination to croissants at Parisian bistros, cobblestone streets and old world romance. Paired with pearl earrings, glittery metallic accessories and the perfect Ted Baker “dress up” jacket, this look begs for a night at the ballet! Who wants to take me?

Dress Up

All summer I dreaded the day I’d have to return to wearing pants over shorts, long sleeves over tank tops and tights with my dresses, but now that the season is starting to shift I find myself surprisingly, well, excited!

One of the things that got me thinking chilly weather might not be such a bad thing was shopping at Negarin while I was in LA last month. My favourite store on the Abbott Kinney strip, this shop is always bursting with pastel magic, and everything from their coats to sunglasses is just gorgeous. I walked out with a little pink dress (shown in my red carpet look), a white silk bow blouse, and the best pink trousers ever. Sadly I couldn’t actually wear my new treasures in Cali because it was too warm, but when the brisk wind came in here in Toronto I knew my time had come. Topped off with dainty jewels, black mules, and a cute vegan bucket bag from Harvey’s, it was the perfect transitional look!

Dress Up

I cannot get enough of summer whites this year. Seriously, I think I’ve doubled the amount of white clothing I own over the past few months, and everywhere I go I’m automatically drawn to the same milky section.

I spotted this ridiculously cute romper on REVOLVE and I just knew I had to have it. You know when you can picture an item in your closet so well that it feels like it’s already hidden away in there? This was one of those for me. That ruffled hemline! That bow at the back! That perfect checkered sheer fabric with just a hint of ballet pink between the spaces!

Of course the romper DID end up in my closet, and this summer look turned out part ballet, part country cowgirl, with just a tiny hint of boudoir. It’s a handful, I know, but something about the pom poms on my satin shoes paired with this fringe clutch from CONVEY just made sense in the moment.

What do you think? Too much, or just right?

Dear Diary

I have a bit of an issue when it come to Christmas shopping: I just don’t know when to stop! Every single year I get out of hand, on a mission to find that perfect special something for everyone on my list, from my next door neighbour who I barely know to my parent’s dog.

At the very top of my “love to shop for” list sits my pastel prince, aka whoever I happen to be dating when the holidays hit. Don’t get me wrong- I genuinely love gift shopping for anyone and everyone, but above all I delight in splurging on cashmere scarves, dress shirts, spicy cologne and printed socks. I have a secret affinity for menswear and gentleman’s products, so Christmas gives me the perfect excuse to really dive into that world.

This Christmas I’m lucky enough to have a pretty magical guy in my life, which means I went on a bit of a spree collecting all sorts of treasures for him. From a fancy gold embossed deck of cards (he does magic, literally) to my favourite men’s cologne (which he just so happened to wear before I even met him), this guide really got much more expansive than I had originally planned… but what’s wrong with a bit of Christmas spoiling, right?

*Gender aside, this roundup is for all those handsome, masculine-identified folks in your life. Happy shopping!
