Dress Up

We are so lucky to live right across the street from CONVEY, and every time they get a new delivery we are in there like syrup on pancakes! Usually we walk, but when they let us know Double Trouble had arrived, we practically ran.

Embroidered with cute sayings like “Heartbreaker” and “Tell Me About it Stud”, this line of powder-coloured basics has really become an instant staple in our closets. There’s something so simple and convenient about going back to basics, and we’re so thankful to CONVEY for introducing us to this mega-cute British line!

In the spirit of twinning (our favourite thing lately), Jo and I channelled the Pink Ladies for this mini Double Trouble outfit shoot. I paired my tee with 3×1 white denim, and CONVEY’s beautiful collaboration leather jacket with Namesake. Jo opted for a dressed down look with vintage denim cut offs, a pink pleather jacket by local brand Jon + Jenn. We both topped it all off with Sonix sunnies from beautiful Los Angeles, and red heart lollies of course!

Dear Diary

Father’s day is just around the corner, and though I usually just pick out a pair of socks for my dad (erm, sorry Dad), I’m realizing as I get older that Father’s day will become not only about showing my appreciation for my own father, but my friends (and one day my partner in crime!) who have become fathers too!

My boyfriend’s birthday was just a few weeks ago, so I conveniently got to pick out a bunch of cute guy gifts anyway… when I noticed Father’s day was coming up it seemed necessary to show my favourites here in case any of you are stuck for next weekend!

Dress Up

Dressing for travel is always a bit of a menace, even if you’re just taking a short road trip in the summer heat. Driving down to Buffalo for our little adventure last week (city guide coming Monday!) was a super fun impromptu decision, and though we were in a rush I somehow ended up perfectly appropriately dressed. So perfectly in fact, that I decided to share a casual Spring outfit post!

I’m really into the all-white-everything outfit concept throughout every season, and Spring is obviously no exception. CONVEY has become my go-to for all things beautifully well made and simple, and since they’re conveniently right across the street I am almost constantly picking up new treasures. This round: a thin airy tank by SIG and a light long grey wool coat by Georgia Alice. Paired with simple blush denim, a soft tan bucket bag from Cantin, and my very fresh new Common Projects, comfort has never looked so clean and shiny!

Dress UpI'll Follow You Anywhere

When packing for Nice I was determined to bring only classy, ladylike pieces. I didn’t even want to give myself the option of looking lazy (like I do working from home most days I’m afraid), and so I ended up with a handful of fun new outfit shoots and a lot of blisters from wearing heels almost constantly.

This pairing from my favourite local boutique CONVEY was the perfect intersection between dressed up and casual comfort while I was away, and I couldn’t get enough of the soft suede shorts with this amazing blush Georgia Alice number. I’m not generally an “off the shoulder type” (that’s a thing, right?) but this piece is the perfect way to try out the look, and I’m definitely hooked!

Dress UpI'll Follow You Anywhere

There are a few styles of clothing I’m always terrified to wear, despite my generally carefree attitude in the wardrobe department. Maxi dresses, super baggy boyfriend jeans, and overly doll-like dresses are all on the list, but wide leg pants and culottes sit right at the top.

You know how they say “When in France”? Well, the word ‘culotte’ itself is in fact a French word, and there was something so perfectly Cote D’azur about this striped Lucy Mcintosh pair from CONVEY. Going against my “if you don’t wear it at home you won’t on vacation” philosophy, I tried them on, and guess what? They were super cute! Into the suitcase they went, and I wore them multiple times traipsing around French balconies and feasting on fresh seafood.

The lesson? No more weird fashion rules for me.

Ps. every single apartment in Nice has views like these… How amazing is that to wake up to?!
