If you’re old enough to remember the amazing infomercials that used to run on T.V. featuring the Bedazzler, you’ll remember it was a pretty special time where making things sparkly was truly celebrated. “Don’t be dull, be dazzling!” the commercials urged, promising the machine was as easy to use as a stapler, but for gems and crystals!

On one of my first visits to Studio B Paige suggested we try doing a project with her never-before-used Bedazzler, and my mind immediately went back to those infomercials from so many years ago. We were both excited to test it out in the beginning, but as time went by, the idea slipped- we weren’t actually too sure how to use the machine after all, and it seemed really daunting every time we skimmed over the instructions.

After months of dodging the challenge, we came up with the perfect simple (yet dazzling) DIY project to test our skills on: sparkle socks! We picked out some powdery, medium weight pastel socks from a local shop, some iridescent crystals, and finally got our Bedazzle on!

scroll down for all the sparkly details!

You’ll Need //

A Bedazzler
Gold fasteners
Crystals (they should match the size of the fasteners)
Medium weight socks

Directions //

As long as you have the right head on your Bedazzler arm, using it is actually pretty simple once you get used to the steps. Essentially, you load the gold fastener into the arm, put the crystal in the little silver dish face down, and press the machine down like a stapler with the fabric in-between. You really don’t need a lot of force, and even if everything isn’t perfectly in place it’s pretty foolproof to get your jewel on there!

The results? Some magically made over socks to pair with all of your favourite footwear! Your ankles can thank us later.

The season for all things glittery and gleaming is coming to an end, but luckily around here that season just happens to last all year long!

Paige and I wanted to bid farewell to 2014 with a heavy dose of sparkle (big shock, I know), so we came up with a super simple DIY project that can add a bit of magic to just about any ensemble.

Perfect for New Year’s Eve, these embellished tights might just become your new favourite accessory for 2015!

What You’ll Need //

Tights
Jewels
E6000 Craft Adhesive
Soft cardboard (ideally from the tights’ packaging)
Pencil

1 // Try on your tights and mark the general area you want to place gems with a pencil

2 // Place the cardboard inside the tights’ legs where you’re glueing the gems to avoid glueing the fabric together.

3 // Glue the gems into place, creating whatever pattern or formation you choose

4 // Let the glue dry fully, then carefully remove the cardboard and you’re good to get your glitz on!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of playing dress up with the Bicyclette team for their final look book shoot. We got all dolled up in lace and sequins, and played around with tinsel, balloons and champagne while rocking out to Taylor Swift. It was an inspiring and magical day, and I can’t wait to be a part of whatever Paige dreams up next!

Reposted from my dear friends at Bicyclette:

“She’s an explorer, a daydreamer, and never turns down an excuse to wear flowers in her hair. She believes in magic, likes the challenge in finding the perfect dress, and always mixes her favourite vintage tee with a dash of delicate sequins. There’s no problem a swipe of lipstick can’t fix, and she’s always up for a midnight adventure.”

Our final holiday lookbook, XO, Bicyclette’, is dedicated to all of our Bicyclette Girls who have made this adventure such a magical one. We wanted to capture the essence of our quintessential Bicyclette Girl, the dreamers with stars in their eyes and love in their hearts, and celebrate the end of this particular fairy tale. So with an abundance of star confetti, glittery balloons and party-perfect outfits that are begging to be taken for a spin on the dance floor, this one’s for everyone who has been along for the ride, thank you for inspiring us and making our dream a reality.

Dear Diary

I first started following Studio Mucci on Instagram when my friend Sarah bought one of her garlands for her new apartment. “You don’t follow Studio Mucci?!” she asked, clearly confused, and when I did search and follow Amina Mucci’s account, I immediately knew why.

Studio Mucci represents everything that Paige and I love in the world. Glitter, colour, the desire to celebrate everyday and the resilience to take down party decorations long after the special occasion has passed. Amina, her amazing husband Salvatore, and their team of tassel fairies spend their days building beautiful handmade piñatas, garlands, and the occasional special surprise, and even though their studio (aka. Tassel Factory) is closed to the public, they were kind enough to invite us up for a little peak!

After all the glitter, sweat, (happy) tears, and excitement, it’s finally here: the last Pastel Pool Party photo post. Paige and I had such an incredible time planning this shoot and sharing it with our friends/models and all of you. Everything from throwing the custom confetti to cutting into the magical pink ombre cake was perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening with so many wonderful ladies.

Make no mistake, this won’t be the last beautiful event you see from RAOPxStudioB!
