Dress UpI'll Follow You Anywhere

So I already published the BIGGEST NOLA GUIDE EVER, but believe it or not, there are still a few more posts to come. One of the restaurants in my guide was so special that I figured it was owed an entire post of its own.

Pastel people, meet Brennan’s, one of the pinkest and prettiest places I’ve ever been! I noticed the cotton-candy pink exterior on our first walk through the French Quarter on day one, and without even glancing at the menu I knew we had to go in – it was love at first sight!

A few days later we returned for brunch and explored the space itself, a wonderful collection of whimsical rooms filled with my favourite shades of green, pink and peach. There were hand-painted oyster dishes on the walls, glass lined with drawings of tropical birds, gorgeous tiled tables and a courtyard complete with pink flowers and a turtle fountain! It seemed never ending as I explored room to room, and even the bath room was what dreams are made of.

In my star spangled romper and pink sunnies I couldn’t have felt more at home, and if you love pink, you’ll fit right in too!

Dress Up

First off, happy World Ballet Day!

Was anyone else super obsessed with Centre Stage growing up? There was something about the horrible acting and amazing choreography that really hit a nerve with me, but try as I might I was never really able to master the art of dancing – especially ballet.

I recently re-discovered my love for ballerina twirling at Extension Method (more on that in our #RAOPfunfitness post), and though I’m still by no means the most graceful person in the class, I find myself inspired by point shoes, leotards, and velvet hair ribbons more than ever before.

Inspired by my new ballet class schedule, I put together a little “ballerina off-duty” look inspired by none other than Centre Stage, the cheesy movie that started it all. Complete with classic , my new favourite denim jacket from CONVEY, and a blush silk dress from Maccs, I was ready to go from the barre to the bar (or something like that!)

I’ve loved Maccs for years now, and I was so excited when they announced they’d launched their own house brand this year, Maccs the Label. Based out of Vancouver (my hometown), the owner Tessa has always been such a sweet friend to RAOP, and she was kind enough to send a gorgeous Chloé Playsuit my way right before I took off for France.

The results? A Spring boudoir look that I just couldn’t get enough of while I was away (and now that I’m back home!) Accessorized with a simple choker, a lacy bra, and simple black sandals, this outfit was effortlessly chic, and my new peach trench from Lovers + friends was the perfect topper for chilly days!
