Dear Diary

Unlike the men’s category, I have so many beautiful, caring, wonderful women in my life, all around me at all times, and they deserve the world this Christmas. I adore shopping for my gal pals, always picking out items year-round and doing my best to save the surprise for December 25th. Of all the special things about the holidays, celebrating the strong community of women who support me on the daily is my favourite part.

That said, those who know me know I’m one of those people who’s nearly impossible to shop for. I’m in an anti-stuff state of mind and I already have anything and everything I could ever wish for, BUT there are a few choice items for “the girl who has everything” that anyone would love to receive, even me.

Let me know your favourite gifts to give this year in the comments below if I’ve missed anything!

Dear Diary

There may not be a single special boy (or partner for that matter) in my life this holiday season, but I still can’t help but love shopping for all things handsome man. I am powerless not to spoil the imaginary man of my dreams, and if you have a real live one by your side I encourage you to spoil on my behalf.

Whether this gift is to help you with a father, son, boyfriend or just friend, I like to think we’ve included a great selection of items that would impress just about anyone you’re shopping for, especially a deserving prince! Though after the year we have had it’s entirely possible A LOT of men will be receiving coal…

Dear Diary

It’s really easy to fill your house with meaningless items, lining every shelf with bits and bobs. For my entire life I’ve been a maximalist, collecting pretty little things everywhere I go, but as I get older I feel more weighed down by all the items I have attached to my life. My taste has shifted from just “cute things” to timeless items that are built to last – investment pieces that both improve my life and can be easily carried from home to home until i finally settle.

As a reflection, this year’s home guide is a bit different than those that came before on my site. Though still pretty, these items are all about investing in your home and your happiness both through innovative tech bits that I have grown to love n 2017 and artisan wares that will stand the test of time. Happy shopping!

Dear Diary

I’ve cared less about “stuff” this Christmas than ever before, but there’s one category I can’t seem to get enough of – kid’s stuff! I feel blessed to be at the age where ALL my friends are having adorable babies, and I can’t help but be the “aunt” that constantly spoils them.

Though I don’t have any little ones of my own (yet!) I wanted to share some of my very favourite finds this holiday season, whether your favourite babe is a tiny dancer or forest adventurer! I hope you have as much fun shopping the post as I did “shopping” to make it!

Dear Diary

Okay guys, real talk: there’s less than 10 DAYS till Christmas. Is anyone else panicking? Are we all remembering to breathe and eat occasionally?

As I’ve mentioned 1000 times before, I’m practically an elf, taking pride in finding the most perfect gifts for every single person on my list. But as I look at the calendar (how is it the end of December already?!) I’ll admit even I’m starting to panic. As hard as I’ve tried, my whole list isn’t totally “wrapped”.

Let’s be honest: there are always a few people that get left until the last minute – it’s usually the friends in my life who have everything they could possibly want, a distant relative I didn’t expect to see, a new friend who I just recently connected with or the person that just can’t be surprised no matter how hard I try.

This is when even I, a pro gift-giver, will consult a gift guide. There’s tons and tons of guides out there (even we have a few!) but my absolute go-to this year is the Chatelaine gift guide hub. It has lots of unique gifts under $100 all picked by trusted Chatelaine editors, and thanks to some very handy organization there’s a separate guide for everyone your list. I found this Bluetooth Item tracker – which I had never even heard of before – and it’s perfect for the person that has everything, but always loses it. I also discovered the perfect gift for all the witchy women in my life – a healing crystal set that goes to a good cause (who doesn’t love the gift that keeps on giving?)

Getting names checked off the list this late in the game is a feeling like no-other, and now I can finally wrap up my wrapping!
