Dear Diary

Scheming and dreaming over the dessert spread at the Pastel Garden Brunch with Delysées helped us become fast friends, and that means we are now able to learn about super secret sugary projects before they come to life.

When Fred, the mastermind behind this incredible French Toronto patisserie first told us about the new champagne macaron collection he was developing, we almost popped our lids so to speak! No one gets delicate flavours into macarons quite like Delysées, so we knew the collection would be a masterpiece.

To our delight, Fred not only let us have a sneak peek (and taste) at his creations, but he also gave us the huge honour of featuring our photos of the release on the packaging and larger than life on his King Street storefront window!

Make sure you take a trip by this month and stop in for a bubbly treat!

Dress UpSips, Sweets & Snacks

In the world of cute treats there are two major champions: the macaron, and the ice cream cone. Both are beloved by all, both taste truly delicious no matter what the season (though I firmly believe everything tastes better in the Summer) and both seem to garner the most attention when it comes to Instagram photos. In short, these two desserts are winning in the world of food trends, so what do you get when you bring them together?

It’s possible you might just break the internet… or at least cause a few cavities!

This summer Delysèes , an amazing French Patisserie around the corner from #thepastelpalace, started churning out gelato-filled giant macarons. In other words, a macaron ice cream sandwich! You can imagine how fast we got down the the shop when we heard the news, and honestly they exceeded all of our wildest ice cream + macaron baby dreams! They were so incredible in fact that in the end they really store the show in my newest Revolve outfit post (that said, how delightful is this white lace romper?)

Dear Diary

I’m not sure where to even start with Bottega Louie. As a lover of all things pink, sweet, and pretty, I practically fell over when I first started seeing photos from people in LA who had visited. My obsession only intensified when Paige brought me back 6 macarons from an LA buying trip and not only were they packaged in the most adorable pastel purple box, but they tasted like heaven, and the earl grey flavour was painted with gold leaf!

My deep love for Bottega Louie hit an all time high when Paige an I finally visited together on our recent LA trip. We met Amina Mucci of Studio Mucci for lunch, and yes, we absolutely stayed for dessert! We filled our table with gourmet pizza, portobello fries and berry lemonade, and when we were finally so full we could’ve burst we moved on to the retail section.

I’m going to be really honest with you guys here: I budgeted $100 for my Bottega Louie visit, and I came pretty close to meeting that cap. I mean come on, everything from the pasta sauce to the coffee to the eclair boxes was so out of this world beautiful! I seriously came *way* to close to buying myself a $200 gift box with a bottle of pink Moet and truffles in it (hem, Christmas is coming!)

In short, Bottega Louie was the pastel heaven I had always dreamed it would be, and even though I’ve shared so many Instagram photos from my visit already, Paige and I just couldn’t help dedicating a special post to it as well!

And yes, in case you’re wondering, everything does taste as good as it looks!
