Winter seems to be dragging on much longer than usual this year, don’t you think? I love a good spell of hibernation and hot tea, but after awhile, it gets a bit exhausting, so I’ve been trying to find new ways to keep happy, healthy, and warm. I’ve started taking vitamins daily, and I’m hoping to work hot yoga back into my weekly routine. I also recently learned there’s a free skating rink two minutes from my house, and since I have a pair of skates just sitting in my closet, I figured I’d give it a go.
This little photo essay was supposed to capture my first day at the rink, but sadly when i arrived I found it had been taken over by a particularly annoying pair of hockey playing men who tried to ask both me and the friend I was with on a date at the same time. They were loud and obnoxious, and it quickly became clear that they weren’t going to make room on the rink for me. Our fun adventure ruined, we snapped some quick photos before scurrying home to sit by the heater. As luck would have it, it was probably too cold to skate anyway!
I hope to try out skating again before the winter is through, hopefully when the rink is a little bit quieter, but in the meantime, here are some pictures for you to scroll through!
