Dress Up

So my wonderful pastel-haired friend Johanna has been helping me out with Random Acts of Pastel stuff over the past little while, and when she emailed me these photos with the subject line “RAOP; star of Frozen” I couldn’t help but smile.

Though we only shot these photos last weekend, Toronto already feels like a whole new city today. The ice is thawing, the sun is shining, and I even rode my bike to work this morning. I was really dreading coming back from Las Vegas (photos and city guide coming soon!), but the change in season has definitely got me feeling inspired. Hopefully this will be the last icy, snowy, mega-bundled outfit post until November! A girl can dream, right?

Dress Up

Every time I’m in New York City, I just can’t help but get all dressed up. Though in theory NYC is the champion of the all-black “model of duty” look, whenever I visit I’m instantly inspired to put together extra fun outfits, even for just a casual outing. I mean if you can’t wear it in the big apple, where can you wear it right?

I suppose this whole mentality about New York is what lead me to spend an entire day shopping in Soho in a pink tulle skirt. By the time we got back to the hotel later that evening I was shivering, tired, and barely able to stand on my heels anymore, but the moment when a little girl gasped and pointed “Look it’s a princess” on Broadway made it all worth it.

Like Emmett said, “I feel like you’re that sparkly tulle princess from, what’s that movie? Oh Enchanted!”

Dress Up

You may have noticed over the past few weeks my hair has been having some major colour fluctuation, and that’s probably because I’m feeling really torn lately! Nicole Richie’s lavender is like a head of taro bubble tea, Sienna Miller’s recent rose gold hair is a whole new level of glamour… there are just so many great inspirations out there right now for us pastel hair people! All trends aside though, I’m pretty sure I’ll spend the summer months switching back and forth between my all time favourite colours: Peach and mint.

Having done mint hair just a few weeks ago, I decided it was time for a foray into the warmer side of things (even if the weather here in Toronto refuses to warm up!) I attained my ideal peachy colour easily enough with a combination of Davines Oi conditioner and Manic Panic in Pretty Flamingo and Electric Tiger Lilly, but then something funny started happening; my life suddenly became saturated with all things peach! I spotted this pastel doorway while driving around a few weeks ago and just couldn’t resist returning with some of my favourite peach pieces to take some photos.
